Experience & Requirements
Associate degree or RN Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing highly preferred.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in healthcare / nursing administration.
Three (3) to Five (5) year of professional nursing experience.
Active RN license in state where position is located with unrestricted/non probationary status. Specialty certification desired (i.e., CCHP, ACHE, etc.)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook
Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed.
Must always follow YesCare and departmental policies and procedures.
Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities
Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Director of Nursing (DON) with YesCare:
Supervises all nursing staff, unlicensed assistive personnel and designated ancillary medical healthcare staff.
Oversees departmental budgets and maintains healthcare supplies and medication management.
Reports to higher management within the healthcare facility
Maintaining high standards of care for all patients
Manages patients’ data and medical records as confidential records.
Communicates with doctors, patients, and family members about patient healthcare needs.
Recruiting, training, and onboarding new nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel. Participates in screening interviews with candidates for basic knowledge, skills and fit within the corrections environment.
Providing ongoing education classes related to nursing and associated healthcare topics. Coordinates and monitors orientation, in-service, and continuing education for nursing and ancillary personnel to enhance performance levels.
Implements and monitors new procedures and training nurses on policies and procedures.
Implements appropriate work structure and processes to accomplish goals for patient care specific to contract requirements and healthcare policy and procedures.
Assists and supports professional and paraprofessional nursing staff in provision of patient care.
Develops and maintains monthly schedule for nursing staff and nursing support staff and ensures that sufficient number of nursing staff are scheduled on each shift with the appropriate skill level.
Ensures nursing practice conforms to state licensure, accreditation, and regulatory agency requirements in the clinical setting.
Acts as a liaison with other operating units, agencies, and outside officials.
Ensures that nursing records are correctly maintained.
Monitors and maintains the continuous quality improvement program. Identifies trends and/or gaps in care and plays active role in continuous quality improvement activities or projects.
Demonstrates accountability for ensuring an environment where professional conflict resolution is valued.
Demonstrates objectivity, thoroughness, insightfulness, and probing behaviors when approaching problems.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
