Experience & Requirements
Graduate of an accredited medical school.
Fully licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
Current DEA registration.
Preferable board certified or board eligible in primary care specialty (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Public Health or Occupational Medicine) with administrative experience in corrections and/or managed healthcare delivery.
Prior medical infectious disease experience.
Subject to initial ongoing security clearance requirements.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Under supervision of the Statewide Medical Director with broad latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the ID consultant is an integral part of the medical team at the Regional Office.
Below is a list of your responsibilities as an Infectious Disease Consultant with YesCare
The Infectious Disease Consultant will lead the Hepatitis and HIV programs for the Maryland DOC. This includes weekly virtual multidisciplinary panels where patients are discussed with the primary specialists and the PharmD representative and treatments plans are determined.
The Infectious Disease Consultant will provide weekly virtual Infectious Disease Clinics for referred patients.
In the event of an infectious disease outbreak, the Infectious Disease Consultant will be the lead clinician managing the situation.
The Infectious Disease Consultant will be the clinical resource for the Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) Director.
The Infectious Disease Consultant and will also assist the IP&C Director in interpreting and optimizing IC reports.
The Infectious Disease Consultant will be the subject matter expert for all DPSCS policies and will perform yearly reviews of the policies.
The Infectious Disease Consultant will be the clinical expert for EMR IC data to ensure complete and useful workflows.
Along with the IP&C Director, the Infectious Disease Consultant will co-chair the Statewide Bi-Monthly meeting.
When asked, the Infectious Disease Consultant will participate in CQI projects or any other multidisciplinary efforts.
The Infectious Disease Consultant will be assigned to the Hanover office.
